Player-Generated Fashion Item in Habbo Raises Over €15000 for Save the Children Finland

Helsinki, Finland -- August 24th, 2021 -- Sulake announced today that the player-created rare kimono clothing item, on sale in Habbo during the month of July, has raised over €15,000 for Save the Children Finland.

Designed by Habbo player -Push, the kimono garment design was chosen as the winner in the Spring Fashion Contest out of 917 entries and placed on sale in-game during the month of July as a rare item. All proceeds from the sale of the kimono are going to the winner’s chosen charity, Save the Children Finland. The kimono rare clothing item was purchased 44,980 times by over 14,000 players.

“The kimono was a hit in Habbo in July! And we are so proud of our awesome community and grateful to everyone who purchased a great item for a great cause,” said Valtteri Karu, CEO of Sulake. “Save the Children is a great and very worthy cause, and we are thrilled to send them this donation, all thanks to our players. Thank you all!”

“We are honored to have been chosen by the Habbo Fashion Contest winner as their charity of choice. The COVID-19 pandemic has further increased the need for help for children and young people in Finland and around the world. This is a very significant donation to secure our help for the most marginalized children and families. A warm thank you to the winner and the organizers of the competition”, comments Heli Le Head of Corporate Partnerships, Save the Children Finland.

The spring fashion contest was part of a seasonal campaign during which Habbo players participated in fashion school events through different games in Habbo, including fashion related quizzes, dress up games and fashion show preparations. Debuting in 2016, Habbo Fashion Month is an extremely popular period with the community, due to the events and number of unique clothing items and accessories that are released.
