In early April Habbo CA and Habbo US are going to merge into one hotel, what does this mean for its users?
This is an extract from the News article on US:
"Coming up in early April Sulake will be merging the Habbo.com and Habbo.ca sites into one. What does this mean? Well, not much will change, meaning all your rooms, friends, furni, pets etc. will of course stay intact. The big change will be that you’ll have a lot more people to meet and have fun with! "
In the FAQ's it goes on to say that if a Username clashes with one on the older hotel, one may have to change, but which one? Our guess is the one that registered first gets to keep their name.
What happens to Furni? Well the furni gets a little tag which shows which Hotel it comes from (making it next to impossible to sell a rare if its more expensive then the same rare on the other hotel)
Now some say that this might be an April Fools joke, if so this is a big one and might get some reactions from the Community which aren't too happy.

Seems unfair that the person with the older account gets to keep their name and the other person has to change :S Also They will properly have more scamming with the whole furniture tag on the furniture to tell you what country it is from. I'm sure if it is real, Sulake should post an article on their website soon :]
The norwegian hotelmanager told us in a forum about this isn't a aprils fool and really is going to happen.
This would cause loads of chaos for the two hotels and protests within them. This doesn't sound like a April Fools Joke to me, still got 2 months until then, I usually start planning mine in March. (LL)
I don't know if this is true, but it would seem that both names are preserved if there are duplicate names and there is some "flag" to tell US and CA users apart. Read the FAQ line carefully: "... if there are username clashes in the new community, you might need to pick a new one." Notice 'comunity' and 'might' meaning that if it does become a problem in the community that there are two people with the same name then other one of them might have to pick a new one. Like I said I'm not certain, but you could interpret it that way.

I mean really, why would ANYONE pay 700HC for a Throne in .com when they could just get a .ca one for 250HC? Of course. Why would she reveal such a good April joke? We do not know if this is actually a joke, but it's obvious that you keep quiet about it if it is.
It's about time this happened as well; it's pointless that they have two hotels for America anyway. It looks like Sulake it trying to save money.
This is just fail everyone who has worked hard for like years on .com to get supers and be wealthy will now be worth next to nothing. This is going to cause many players to just quit its liked being hacked your supers and rares without even being hacked. Sulake fails so much. I will be quiting comes April most likely. I am sure I wont be the only one to quit ive played since 2005 and I have seen sulake do alot of dumb things but this one is up there.
It's definately not an April Fools joke. *Called Sulake, lol...* Secondly, Sulake wouldn't risk such a massive prank, and they certainly wouldn't make a FAQ out of it.
It's not really stupid, it's actually a fairly smart move for Sulake. You guys should be happy they're not downright closing your hotel like they did Russia. Habbo Canada has had a major decrease in the amount of players the past few years. Decrease in players soon becomes a decrease in profit, and that profit probably hardly covers the server expenses and stuff. Sulake's probably not only wasting money on Habbo CA, but losing it.
Since we're neighboring countries, it'd be the only real alternative to merge together our hotels. I'm not sure how that will work staff wise, though. With the merge there will be a cut in staff. I think it will mainly affect the production team and moderation, since CA and US have their own divisions. But the community team, I'm sure, will be safe, since they do both hotels anyways.
Trisha Torres, the Director of Operations of Habbo North America, is Canadian, and I'm really not sure how they are going to be able to manage one hotel in two locations. The CA has a strong moderation team, though. Either or, we'll see major job losses and possibly changes in management.
The campaigns would be different. We won't be able to have special campaigns like Habbo American Idol anymore due to Habbo not wanting to favor an entire nation.
The fansite program will need redesigned; complication of names and who registered first; banned users; group names and ownerships; etc. It'll be havoc.
The furniture values will be ruined. It'll be too difficult for Habbo to differentiate them.
This is the biggest necessary mistake Sulake has ever made.
Well if your on .com and something is rare on .ca GET BUYING!

They should join Habbo Australia & NZ with Habbo Singapore/Malaysia/The Philippines since we all speak english and are apart of the same area on the Globe - Australasia and Asia together!
